Meandering, clean, shallow Wells Creek, known to the cousins as the Villa Maria crick, was a perfect place to wile away lazy summer days in the 1970s. The cousins (Chris, Tuck and Chats in this instance) spent a lot of time there. (Incidentally, Wells Creek is featured on the cover of Peg Meier's book "Too Hot, Went to Lake.") Flooding and erosion have pretty much obliterated the crick now.
