Schnitzel was great, but the sainted Alfie was the true dog of the Miller kids' youth. Here he is with Chatsie, with the Miller kids, admiring the scenery during a vacation in South Dakota, and fiercely defending the Broberg boys from some hapless photographer in the 1960s.
