Sofia McFarland, an old friend who used to work at the Strib and now is at the Wall Street Journal, is in town. Had a delightful visit with her and her wonderful son, Axel (they're at right), tonight at Chris Welsch's home in St. Paul. That's Sofia with me and Totos (top).

Cold night, warm gathering
