A literary evening
Noah and I went to a reading and book signing by our friend Laurie Hertzel, author of "News to Me: Adventures of an Accidental Journalist" at Common Good Books in St. Paul on Wednesday night.
Laurie spoke to a small, friendly crowd.
Laurie and Noah after she signed books. You can see an old photo of Garrison Keillor, the St. Paul bookstore's proprietor, behind them. Back when Laurie lived in Duluth, Noah, then a little kid, and I used to meet her and her awesome dog, Toby, at Kettle River State Park, halfway between Duluth and Minneapolis, for hikes and picnics.
