Noah and I both revere the great writer Victor Hugo, so we walked over to his home in the Place des Vosges, in the Marais area.
In the Place des Vosges, a square of perfect symmetry that was once the site of jousting and tournaments.
Outside Victor Hugo's apartment in the Place des Vosges.
Noah and a portrait of his hero in his apartment.
Me in Hugo's Chinese-art-inspired sitting room. The Maison de Victor Hugo had a curious special exhibit while we were there about Hugo's dalliance in seances and other purported ways of contacting the dead. It was all the rage in his day.
