Ed, preparing for war

This photo of Uncle Ed Sprick was taken at Camp Atterbury, Ind., in late 1943 or early 1944. A few months later, he would be wounded in combat in the bloody hedgerows of France, shipped to England to recuperate, then thrown right back into the maw of war: the Battle of the Bulge.

Any idea what unit he was in ? Perhaps 30th, 83rd or 106th Division ? I have the official website for Camp Atterbury and the above Divisions. I'd be very glad to include his photo and story on that site, at www.IndianaMilitary.org Hosted and supported by the US Army. Contact info on that site.

Hi Jim,

I've emailed some information about Ed Sprick, along with an offer to forward his story and photos from Camp Atterbury and his service in Europe, to you on your website.
