Gone, but not forgotten

This bison herd that long graced the hills and pastures near Old Frontenac, Minn., vanished this fall after the owners got divorced, closed their farm and sent the beasts to slaughter. For years we watched them in spring, summer, fall and winter. Cousins Dan and Pam took photos of the herd running as if in play around its calves this past summer during a trek to Old Frontenac. We hope the bison will be back someday.
