Two years ago today, Pam's dear old friend Dennis Ferguson died of complications from diabetes in Douglasville, Ga. His wife, another dear old pal, Deb Farley, was with him. Dennis was a wonderful, kind, loving, funny, gentle man whom Pam had known for almost 30 years. This week is Deb's birthday. In praise of them, here are three photos taken when we traveled to Provence in fall 2004. Perhaps because Dennis was already dying then, that trip was a vivid celebration of life.
