The majestic bison of Old Frontenac
Cousins Dan and Pam had a busy day in Old Frontenac Saturday, spiffing up their land and surveying the logger-ravaged forest. (For a full account of that debacle written by our own staff forester, go to our auxiliary blog.) On the way home, they took the old gravel road that leads past the state park and the buffalo farm and were treated to the sight of a herd of bison thundering north in their long pasture with a brisk south wind at their tails. They appeared to be playing, good-naturedly chasing their wee new calves. Dan took this photo when they stopped to rest (from outside the fence, mind you).
