The Miller kids loved Rosewetha, their friend in Katterbach, West Germany. She didn't speak any English, but we understood her nevertheless. We have a faint memory of our parents being very, very upset at Christmas when Rosewetha and her brother received nothing but a lump of coal from St. Nicholas, and a beating or two on the side, for being "bad." It was our first clue that something like child abuse existed. Hope she is OK now!
