Downtown Minneapolis, 1982
Only one of the skyscrapers we downtown-worker cousins zip past every day was up in 1982 -- the IDS Tower. Note how cool and high the Foshay Tower looks; you can hardly find it now amid the gleaming buildings. As kids visiting Minnesota, we used to thrill to elevator rides to the top of the Foshay. Interesting to think that we cousins have lived through the brightest -- and darkest -- eras in skyscraper history.
This photo was on a postcard from Aunt Tex (Emma) to Uncle Ed.
