November 2012 trip to Paris: Tour Eiffel

The Eiffel Tower! We didn't feel like going up, just walking around the area and gawking at it one misty evening. As most people know, the tower was designed by Gustave Eiffel and built in 1889 for a big fair. It was meant to be temporary and roundly trashed by 19th-century critics. So much for them.

Noah and I strolled around and took lots of photos of the tower, which is really incredibly beautiful.

A pleasing symmetry defines the tower (and sometimes, Noah! :) ).

It's really coolest at night. Every hour, it's made to twinkle, which Noah recorded on his Facebook page. Very pretty, especially just in the pre-Christmas season when we were there.
