A architectural classic
The Sprick family's L-shaped farmhouse in Minnesota's West Albany Township was a classic of its genre. Such farmhouses have inspired a book and PBS special called "Death of a Dream: Farmhouses from the Heartland." The scrapblog editor highly recommends this PBS site, where you can take a virtual tour of an L-shaped farmhouse much like the Spricks'. Also pictured above is the apple orchard on the Sprick farm. Claus and Maria sold the farm in 1941 and moved to Lake City.
