Back to the 1930s
There is no date or info on the back of this old photo, but it looks like a family reunion at the Sprick farmhouse. We see several people we know in it, including Ed, Marion, Alverna, Tex, Vi, LeRoy, Adelaide and Kate. The portly old gent was Hinrich Augustin, great-grandpa of the cousins and dad to Grandma Sprick. Hinrich was born in 1853 in Neukloster, Hanover, Germany, according to scrapblog research assistant Uncle Joe. The scrapblog editor inherited the wooden trunk that Hinrich brought to America from Deutschland in 1881. On the side, it says: "Hinrich Augustin. Redwing, Minesota. Nord Amerika." It is from this strange, beautiful, bottomless trunk that these photos keep emerging.
