Way cool uncle

Uncle Joe has been helping the scrapblog editor flesh out and correct historical entries below, so be sure to go back and read old entries now and then to get a fuller sense of the photos used. Here are some photos of Uncle Joe himself that he may want to cast further light on. (Is Uncle Joe as cool as Steve McQueen, or what? He looks just like Christopher Plummer! We ALL think so, not just Aunt Mavis.) In the first photo, he is apparently working, though the scrapblog editor notes that the neatness of his desk makes one wonder. (The scrapblog editor's work desk is at all times covered with church bulletins, indecipherable notes, subpoenas, old photos of all you people, Tab cans and cookie crumbs.) The scribble on the back of this photo says: "Mom, your son, the Buick owner, at work." Where is this Buick? Can we have it? The second photo, from 1980, has Uncle Joe, who by the way wore Joe Mauer sideburns before Joe Mauer was born, playing a tape for Grandma Sprick, who is smiling like the Mona Lisa. What's on the tape? Uncle Joe says: "The men from First Lutheran Church of Eau Claire came to the Villa Maria several times for a spring retreat. Your dad and Hart joined us for the evening Lutefisk Awards. Many of the men were choir members. I had them sing "Happy Birthday" for Grandma and recorded it, and that is why she is smiling."
